Greetings Scott!
I watched the President make his state of the union address.
Throughout the broadcast I found myself thinking about an often repeated statement about life in America--"that in this nation, anyone can find success through hard work and working within the law".
But I kept looking at the three figures almost continuously displayed, and found myself looking at Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and Barak Obama and wondering if that is true?
I watched as Pelosi demonstrated her unique physical ability to launch herself straight up from her chair with a vertical leap that many NBA players would envy, showing the ability of America to use mechanical engineering and medical technology to sculpt her face into a feat no less amazing than the work done for Michael Jackson, and her boundless enthusiasm for the President's words that I never quite understood.
Joe Biden grinned with a sparkling toothy smile that should bring him endorsements from toothpaste company's worldwide, and his continuous nodding in agreement with the President's speech has motivated me to spend a little of my own money for an American made Joe Biden bobblehead doll, so that I can continuously remind myself that the death of the President would put Joe in the Whitehouse permanently, rather than merely on occasion like a garden beer summit.
Finally Barak himself displayed his complete lack of appreciation for the problems Americans face under his leadership.
Despite the telling rejection of his health care plans by the citizens, it remains his desire to continue to take away the protection that many Americans desire to keep in their own health insurance plans.
He is proud of "saving" American jobs, while his spending tax money, and hiring government bureaucrats places millions of Americans out of work.
I have not yet figured out how to count "saved" jobs, but the unemployment figures are easily recognized, despite many manipulations in each set of numbers to measure the results in creative new ways.
As he ended his speech I was stuck by the way he confidently stated "I will not quit", and I was renewed in the value of the Constitution and the provision for impeachment!
Twice he paused to recognize the wonderful accomplishments of First Lady Michelle Obama, who somehow still does not seem to be very proud of her country, and the folks in the chamber stood to applaud as she was tasked with the intellectual Joe Biden to work on more ways to mesmerize and hypnotize the American public.
I suppose I have watched more than two dozen or so of these state of the union events, and grow more exasperated with each.
I see no point in the glad-handing, rousing ovations to empty words and idiot phrases, and attempts at sophomoric humor while the entire congress congratulates itself on it's hard work, taking time out for these senseless and inane gatherings, while soldiers die in battle, Americans continue to sink in debt, and bailed out banks pay their executives hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars in bonuses, and the financial future of taxpayer's shrink, as the bloated and inefficient government grows.
I sat stunned, watching the large smiles of what seems to me to be seriously mentally ill Congressmen and Senators grinning like monkeys and hyenas while the President promises more of the same!
What exactly was said that could cause hundreds the people's representatives to jump to their feet and thunderously applaud Obama's words?
Why were buffoons like Schumer, Reid, Biden, Hoyer, Rangel, and hosts of others who's names I don't even know laughing, applauding, and ovating this speech?
I will wake up tomorrow, with less retirement security, a home and property not worth what it was before the Democrats took over, and still waiting to be attacked by the Muslim terrorists that we are no longer at war with?
Thank God for elections, because what brought this group to Washington, can send them home!
Tom Coats
