Big news here on the Burton Main Street! The car show is buzzing tonight with this: Former Coffee Corner owners - Sue and Jerry Wayman have REPURCHASED Coffee Corners from the present owner of the past two years and will take back over the well-known Burton establishment on Nov. 1. This news is being widely heralded by not only the car show folks, but the town as well who missed the "dynamic duo".
"The stars just lined up for us to return," Jerry said in an interview earlier today. "I said one night to Sue, 'honey do you want to go back to Burton?' and she burst into tears and said, 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' and that's all it took. Then it all fell into place - Berkshire needed a football coach because of the Harriman thing, Coffee Corners wanted to sell, my daughters wanted us back up here, the car show guys were calling me to get that going better, a buyer was bugging us to sell our restaurant here in Hocking Hills and the apartment of Shibley's opened up on Burton's Main Street. All of this happened in a one week period! So we're heading back! Man, we really missed it!"
Jerry will start immediately as a Berkshire assistant coach while Sue is wrapping up the final weeks at her Hocking Hills coffee shop/restaurant. Jerry will not repurchase "Tom and Jerry's Restaurant", but rather work beside Sue in Coffee Corners.
Glad to have these two sparkplugs back!
