Rasmussen: Portman Still Leads in Ohio Senate Race

From Newsmax website

Republican Rob Portman now picks up 44 percent support while his opponent, Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher, earns the vote from 39 percent in the latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters in Ohio’s U.S. Senate race.

Seven percent prefer some other candidate while another 11 percent are undecided.

The race is a bit closer than it was two weeks ago, when Portman held a 45 percent to 37 percent lead over Fisher.

The latest numbers move this race from Leans Republican to Tossup in the Rasmussen Reports ...

Posted By: Scott Weber 09/01/2010 @ 12:17 PM

Good Morning Media Friends!

Today the sunrise was greeted with an excellent article about St. Helen's White Cross Memorial in The News-Herald.  Too often the media fails to produce fair and balanced coverage of the Abortion issue. Not so in this case!   We appreciate the coverage and attention to this vital issue of life and death.

Thanks and God Bless!

Serial Killer, Fair, Fowler's Mill
Posted By: Scott Weber 09/01/2010 @ 08:17 AM

Quick Shots:

Serial Killer:    Wow, what a weird time last week here in the bustling berg of Burton! Ed Edwards - our very own serial killer - was in town to "spill his guts" about his sixth murder - and allowed himself to be wheeled around the back of the Troy Cemetery as he explained how he kidnapped his own "son" and shotgunned him to the head... Why did he do this? Very simple: This monster sonofabitch WANTS TO BE PUT TO DEATH AND GOOD OLD OHIO HAS THE DEATH PENALTY!   Well, let's give him what he wants.  I think I'll call the Governor and ask to be ...

New military rifle lighter, more powerful

From:  Media General News Service

For years, the M16 and M4 have been the mainstay assault weapons of the special forces.  Now Socom has a new assault rifle, the MK-17. Not only does it fire a larger caliber projectile that is deadlier at longer distances, but it has an interchangable barrel that allows it to be used for everything from close-range fighting to sniper fire.
     It has three interchangeable barrels.
It will be able to fire two different caliber bullets.

Teaching Math TODAY... Oh boy!

Years of Math 1950 - 2010

Last week I purchased a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl
took my $2 and I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my
pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3
pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her
discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she
hailed the manager for help.  While he tried to explain the transaction to
her, she stood there and cried.  Why do I tell you this?  Because of the
evolution in teaching math since the ...

10 Years Before Fowlers Mill Changes

Scott,

Good reply to my post.   I agree with you that when a development opp is viable, the course is toast. However, my guess is that will be at least a decade away if not longer.   The economy is in the tank currently and even when it rebounds, you have to remember that this isn’t the only piece of non developed land in that area.

If this deal goes south, my guess is that until a development opp arises, either Peterson will operate it as a golf course or sell it to someone who will.   My belief is that the course is profitable/viable but probably ...

The ATA Has Shot Itself In The Foot
by Jim Morris

Here are some thoughts about trapshooting, which to most people in the world or even the U.S. is an obscure sport. In fact few people even know what trapshooting is – except around here.

If you did one of those man-on-the-street interviews with folks in any U.S. city and asked: Do you know what trapshooting is? – you would get a blank stare or, perhaps the answer would be: “Crapshooting – yeah – that’s rolling dice! … Do I get a prize?”
Snake eyes.
